Mathematics Teacher for Grades 8 to 12 - ICSE Curriculum</strong></p><br /><p>To create an engaging learning environment for students, create an enthusiasm in students for learning and for subjects within the framework and standards of the specified curriculum; to nurture student talent and help them grow and develop into well-rounded human beings using well-researched teaching learning, and assessment practices.</p><br /><p><strong>Quality Education:</strong></p><br /><p>Planning the Curriculum and Lessons </p><br /><ul><li> Plan the curriculum for the year and the term. </li><li> Identify clear learning outcomes. </li><li> Specify how the learning outcomes will be taught and assessed. </li><li> Design effective and engaging lessons based on the prescribed syllabus and curriculum.</li><li> Design lessons with a clear structure and progression. </li></ul><br /><p><strong>Learning Environment</strong> </p><br /><ul><li>Deliver effective and engaging lessons. </li><li>Facilitate a variety of activities both in and out of the classroom. </li><li>Assess student performance using both paper-pencil tests as well as a variety of other methodologies. </li><li>Create an active and engaging learning environment. </li><li>Manage classroom discipline. </li><li>Be a leader in the classroom. </li><li>Be a role model for students. </li></ul><br /><p><strong>Assessment and Evaluation</strong> </p><br /><ul><li>Assess how well the learning outcomes have been achieved using a variety of evaluation methods. </li><li>Correct and mark work done by students. </li><li>Set papers/evaluations for tests, assignments, and assessments. </li><li>Assess, record and report on the attainment, progress, development, and overall behavior of your students.</li></ul><br /><p><strong>Student Learning and Progress </strong></p><br /><ul><li>Build on prior attainment levels of students. </li><li>Set learning tasks that are both challenging and interesting for learners. </li><li>Ensure the involvement of every student in the learning process. </li><li>Differentiate learning to include students who are gifted and slow learners, and students with SEN. </li><li>Collaborate with the School Counsellor to create and execute an Individualized Education <br />Plan for slow learners. </li><li>Ensure remediation of concepts that are unclear both individually and in groups. </li><li>Provide constructive feedback to students. </li><li>Help students develop appropriate study skills. </li></ul><br /><p> <strong>Pastoral Care and Counselling </strong></p><br /><ul><li>Provide encouragement and support to each student so that he can aspire to reach his full potential at academics and at co-curricular activities. </li><li>Play the role of mentor and counsellor to students </li><li>Build a healthy nurturing relationship with each student individually. </li><li>Get to know the background of each of your students.</li><li>Encourage students to become independent problem solvers. </li><li>Help students to grow personally, and to become mature and responsible. </li><li>Identify students with symptoms of emotional disturbance and work with the school counsellor to help them, as needed. </li><li>Identify students with learning disabilities and work with the student counsellor to help them, as needed. </li><li>Demonstrate responsible leadership and wise management for the students as per the values of St. Peters School. </li></ul><br /><p> <strong>Administrative Responsibilities & Resource Management </strong></p><br /><ul><li>Create and maintain up-to-date digitized Personal, Academic and Co-Curricular Performance Records for students </li><li>Maintain student attendance records. </li><li>Maintain an up-to-date digitized record of student performance mark lists, mark sheets, report cards - for your respective subjects and classes. </li><li>Create and maintain teaching-learning records such as unit plans, lesson plans, log books. </li><li>Create and maintain records of assessments, assignments and worksheets for the academic year. </li><li>Assume special roles, such as Class Teacher, House Mistress/Master, as may be assigned. </li><li>Disburse textbooks and stationery to students. </li></ul><br /><p> <strong>Communication & Collaboration</strong> </p><br /><ul><li>Demonstrate an open, accepting and non-critical attitude to students </li><li>Communicate student performance - attainment, progress, development, and overall behavior to parents/guardians of the students </li><li>Communicate regularly and proactively with the other teachers subject/class, Counsellor, Nurse and Parents of the students about student performance and behavior. </li><li>Demonstrate good listening skills with all stakeholders </li><li>Report the status of student performance to the Supervisor Primary/Secondary School (as applicable), and to the Principal on a regular basis. </li><li>Liaise with the school hospital to ensure timely and quality medical attention for students, as required. </li><li>Participate in staff meetings. </li><li>Supervise Class IV staff to get required tasks done on time and effectively, as required. </li><li>Extend hospitality to visiting parents and guardians. </li><li>Maintain courteous relations with students, parents and staff members of the school. </li></ul><br /><p> <strong>Organizational Duties </strong></p><br /><ul><li>Plan, organize and conduct Co-Curricular activities and Special Functions for students, e.g. Annual Day, Sports Day, Hindi Diwas, Debates, Drama and more. </li><li>Perform Duties assigned as per school rota, e.g. Master/Mistress on Duty in the School Dining Hall, etc.</li><li>Ensure that cleanliness is maintained in the classrooms, and in other areas of the school. </li><li>Assist Dorm Parents, the School Counsellor, and the Nurse in providing pastoral care and counselling to the students. </li><li>Contribute to creating a safe environment physical and personal in the school. </li><li>Support and contribute to the general and personal safety of all students. </li><li>Identify and report any students at risk of physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment to the Principal, the School Counsellor, the respective Dorm Parent and the Nurse. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all information acquired in the course of undertaking duties relating to the school. </li><li>Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance and conduct. </li><li>Adhere to school policies. </li><li>Undertake any other reasonable duties related to the school and the job from time to time, as required or as requested by the Principal. </li></ul><br /><p> <strong>Learning & Development </strong></p><br /><ul><li>Undergo an awareness course in Counselling for Teachers </li><li>Undergo an awareness course in Special Education Needs (SEN), including Learning <br />Disabilities. </li><li>Undergo First Aid training certification. </li><li>Undergo Safety & Disaster Management training. </li><li>Update skills related to your subject from time to time. </li><li>Update skills related to teaching learning based on national and international learning theory <br />and methodology from time to time. </li><li>Update general managerial skills from time to time. </li><li>Contribute to local and national educational events as a thought leader and speaker. </li><li>Participate in general training programs as the school may deem fit from time to time. </li></ul><br /><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong> </p><br /><p><strong> Abilities / Skills -
